Welcome to Bloomers Academy (formerly Home Sweet Home) where children get the structure of preschool, but the feeling of being home. There is so much in today’s world that pushes them to grow up so fast. At Bloomers Academy, we embrace what the world around us has to offer. If a ladybug flies our way, we stop to enjoy it, let it crawl on our hands, count its spots, and talk about where it lives. Children are sponges and truly take in everything around them. If we just take simple things, like a ladybug, and turn them into a lesson, children continually discover the joy of learning.

One of the biggest things I have learned over the years is the importance of structure. Our day will consist of a routine, so the children know what to expect.

Bloomers Academy is a structured program which encourages kids to experience the world around them. Each day is filled with education, love, and… FUN!

We pride ourselves on providing the children with well-rounded meals that are primarily organic.

Curriculum

At Bloomers Academy, we feel children learn the best with routine and consistency Every two weeks we focus on a letter, a number, a shape and a color. We incorporate these items into fun interactive lessons and review them during circle time. Every month a lesson plan will be provided for you in order to continue the lessons in your own home. Teacher and parent communication will play a big role during your child’s time at Bloomers Academy.

Daily Schedule

• 09:00-09:20 Circle/Story Time
• 09:20-09:35 Snack
• 09:35-10:00 Books and Puzzles
• 10:00-10:45 Outside Play
• 10:45-11:30 Lesson/Art/Sensory
• 11:30-12:00 Educational and Age-Appropriate Movie
• 12:00-12:30 Lunch
• 12:30-03:00 Nap (if awake at that time, they may quietly read books until 2:30)
• 03:00–03:15 Clean-up nap mats and put shoes on
• 03:15-04:00 Snack and Outside Play
• 04:00-05:30 Free Play

Pricing

Full Time Child Care
• 4-5 Full days a week – $275.00 weekly

Part Time Child Care
• 2 Full days a week – $120.00 weekly
• 3 Full days a week – $200.00 weekly 

Payments can be made via check, cash, or Venmo. Tuition is to be paid in full on the 1st and 15th of every month.

About Me

Children have been my passion from the first baby doll I was given. It wasn’t long before baby dolls were traded in for real babysitting jobs. As others dream of being a doctor, fire fighter, singer, or business professional, I dreamt of being a mom. Children bring so much joy into my life; they can put a smile on my face no matter what kind of day I’m having. Loving what I do has always been a must, so children were always going to be a part of that.

All through high school I was a nanny. After graduating, I went to Mesa College where I got my accreditation to become a preschool teacher. I worked at Baldwin Academy in Pacific Beach. For three years, I was a lead teacher in the infant program. My husband and I then moved to Virginia where I worked with all ages at Child Time Preschool for two and a half years. We then made our way back to San Diego and I returned to Baldwin Academy as the program director of the three-year-old program. I worked there for almost three years until I left to have our daughter. Two years later, I decided to open an in-home child care. It is the best of both worlds.

As I mentioned above, I studied child development at Mesa College and I am certified to be a preschool teacher. I have been licensed through the state and have undergone their fifteen-hour training course which includes CPR, first-aid, and preventative health practices. Continuing my education, I completed my AA degree in Child Development. I have also gone through a background check, and safety inspection of our home. Home Sweet Home daycare is truly a one-of-a-kind center allowing kids to learn and thrive in a positive, encouraging, and structured environment! The kids look forward to their days there. There is emphasis on friendship and kindness along with age appropriate educational lessons built-in throughout the day. The food served (you don’t have to send your kids with snacks or lunch!!! #winning) is healthy, usually organic, and of great variety, helping the kids develop a taste for a balanced diet. Each kid is treated as an individual and Miss Atria spends one-on-one time with the kids, helping them grow and develop into the great little humans that they were destined to be. 🙂 If you are looking for childcare, don’t hesitate to call and take a tour… picking a daycare is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do being a new mom, but having Home Sweet Home nearby has surely made this transition easier. Atria and the teachers are all wonderful! I couldn’t ask for a more compassionate and loving place to care for our kids. My daughter runs to the door and jumps for joy when we are going to the daycare. She also asks to go to the daycare on weekends. She just loves it that much.

Atria, Ms. Tonya, and Ms. Allie are all excellent. My son had some trouble adjusting in the beginning because he started at 19 months old and had “Brodies House” which is Atria’s son (same age as mine). I can’t speak more highly of how they interact with the children. It’s a loving environment where positivity, friendship and kindness are treasured. My son is a little over two now and he can count to ten, knows colors, shapes, animals, animal noises, and more! Their communication is excellent, rates are fair, and food is organic! If I am not home with my son, I am so thankful he is in such loving place.
